The Mouse Trap and Cami

Well, to day Cami just had to do what she wanted and NOT what we told her. We have been getting some mice in our garden, so Kyle set a few trap with peanut butter. Of course being the wise parents we are...we told the kids not to touch it or else it will snap their fingers. Late this afternoon Cami came in the house crying and attached to her pointer finger was a mouse trap. Thank goodness it did not break her finger. (I wanted to take a picture, but thought it would be neglectful to make her wait for me to take a picture before removing it. LOL...it would have made a great picture though) This would make a great Conference talk analogy......Heed the counsel of your parents or you'll end up with a mouse trap on your finger. Kyle has been making random phone calls today to get phone numbers from family members. He fell in the river last week while fishing and drenched his cell phone. He was so pissed when he got home (soaking wet) that he came in barely said anything to me and told me he was taking a nap. Huh...Kyle never takes naps so I knew to leave him alone. We watched little Logan tonight....Jessica and I swap babysitting time with each other. He is so stinkin cute and chubby.

OK, so here is a little catch up on Cami. Cami Kristine Lainhart was born September 11, 2008 at Valley Hospital, Las Vegas and delivered by Dr. Benson (this is the 2nd baby I have had where my Dr. Wang was NOT oncall). I had false labor a few days before on Labor Day while Kyle was out of town. So, when I started having contractions at Mc Donalds the 10th I wasn't getting too excited until I knew for SURE that I needed to go to the Hospital. Well, 3AM came around and my contractions were 10-15 minutes apart and I could not sleep, so I woke Kyle up and said "Lets go". Suzanne was living with us at the time so she watched the kids and we arrived at the hospital at 3:30 AM and I was dilated to a 6 already. WhooHoo! She was born 3 hours later (with very mild contractions) and she was out in 2 pushes. My babies were getting bigger in weight with each one born and Blake was 7lbs 13 Oz.....so I was thinking she would be 8lbs, then the nurse shouted 6lbs 13Oz. "What, she's smaller?" That has been the story of her life.....Petite is the perfect word for Cami.  Because Cami came so quickly, the antibiotics were not in my system long enough for her to be out of danger (I am strep B +). So she had to be babysat in the NICU for 2 days. It was lame, but I got a little relax time in the hospital and went to visit her every 2-4 hours for feedings. Cami had a bow in her hair within the first few days of her life. The boys were so thrilled to have a little sister. Cami has always had fun faces as a baby and the famous scrunchy nose. She has had the least hair of my babies...go figure, the one who needs it the most. So her hair style has developed from nothing to one tiny ponytail on top to two ponytails on top. I did bands and bows her first year, but now she won't do bands, but will do 2 bows. She was pulling herself up and standing at 6 months and walking at 10 months.  At her 1 year check up she was under 0 percentile for weight. She is normal height, but just a light weight. Cami had a Turkey cake for her first birthday and we call her a little pumpkin.....or a turklette...the boys are turkey's. Yes, I am weird, but that's what I call them. Cami just turned two last month and is already using the little potty. WOW! Her favorite song as a baby was " I hope they call me on a mission". This is either a sign that she will be a spiritual young lady or that she is going to be boy crazy! Cami has fun little words like "mumkin=pumpkin" "orse=horse" "BawBaw=Bottle" and "Heeyo=Here you go". Cami is very helpful and she loves to unload the dishwasher. She is OBSESSED with horses right now. She got a horse poster that Kyle hung on the ceiling above her crib and she has to pet it before she gets in bed. LOL She likes to ride her stuffed house and say "YeeHaw".

Conference Weekend and Blake!

We spent Conference weekend in Utah at my Dad's and LaVon's. We had a great time. We got to go to a few soccer games for McKenzie and had a feast Sunday night to celebrate mine and Michael's Birthdays. I heard some wonderful talks from various Conference Speakers and enjoyed hearing the new Church stats. We really enjoyed playing "Ticket to Ride". Kyle and I are considering buying it. The kids always love playing with Cheyenne and McKenzie and thoroughly had a blast running around in the backyard. Dad and I talked a lot about next years garden and gave me a few good tip on Cantaloupe and Watermelon. Grampa Smith had a huge melon farm outside of Las Vegas wile Dad was growing up. I am so happy we are closer to LaVon and Dad.

Ok, so here is some catch up for Blake. Blake David Lainhart was born April 1st, 2006 (April Fools). He was born at Valley Hospital around 5AM. He was 7lbs 13oz and had a big bald spot in the from of his hair from it rubbing in the womb. I was very fortunate that Dr. Jackson allowed me to deliver normal (I had a C-section with Gideon). It was about 11 hours of labor and went smoothly. The funny thing about this labor was the fact that my water broke while we were walking in Walmart......and of course I was NOWHERE near the front door. It was quite interesting" Kyle, I am going to the car...my water just broke....pay for the stuff and meet me there". Fun huh! Anyway, Blake tried to be a good baby, but unfortunately he had digestion problems. He cried and cried and cried and cried ALL the time. The Dr. just said it was Colic, but I knew it was his digestion because a 2 month old does not have HUGE poops like he did. Eventually at 9 months they put him on some meds that helped him poop. Thank you! He only had to be on them a few months and he was much happier. Blake as a baby was not as smiley as Gideon, but he loved to laugh. He drooled a ton and walked at 1 year of age. That stubborn boy could have walked months earlier, but didn't want to until we were at Grampa Lainharts and he didn't like crawling on tile. Blake would cry/sing himself to sleep at night "E I E I O" (the O being really sad ) he loved to sing Old McDonald. Blake was a Monkey for Halloween his first year and carried a plastic Banana. Too Cute. Cami and Blake are 17 months apart and he accepted having a new baby around really well. He loves Start Wars of course, but it didn't take him long to become attached to Buzz Lightyear. He is definitely more hyper than Gideon. He makes the funniest noises....one that reminds me of the seagull Skuddles singing in the Little Mermaid. He loves making crazy faces and has a super long, pointy tongue. He Loves cowboys and idollizes Grampa Lainhart the "TRUE" Cowboy and he says home is at Grampa's. He loves being outside and running around. Gideon and Blake play a lot together, but surprisingly he enjoys his time without Gideon when he's at school. Blake likes to sing to Kyle's Bluegrass CD and is a really good boy in Nursery. He is 3 years old now and we love you Blake!

Today and Gideon!

So, today was a nice hot day! I am treasuring these hot days since death to life is about to happen fir 6 straight months......I am talking about winter if you didn't catch that. I am in an adult Clogging group. Man does it kick my butt. I did clogging about 6 months when I was 8 and not clogged since. It is fun though and I hope to be in it awhile. i am tossing the idea of putting Gideon in clogging as well. I can hear the girls now....No, he's MY partner....No he's MYYYY partner! Like I posted before Kyle's brain is on hunting. So, his nephew Mike came over and we all went for a drive just out of town to look for deer and such. We saw at least 5 deer and 3 big moose. Looks like Kyle will have no problem getting a deer this year, but I really want an Elk.

So, I have lots of catch up to play as far as journal writing so I plan on posting something from the past at every post. I thought I would start with my little Blonde Bombshell Gideon.

Gideon Deland Lainhart was born on June 16, 2004. He weighed 7lb 8oz. and it was at about 7:30PM. He was my only  C-section baby so far (hopefully my last) and when I first got to see him he was already smacking his lips ready to suck. He had so much hair...I told Kyle" Oh hunny, I am sorry he looks just like my dad". No offense Dad. He had sideburns and it was dark dark brown. His hair went stark Blonde with in 3 months and it looked like I tipped his hair Black with Blonde roots. As soon as I could cut it...I hacked off that brown hair. Hair ...Oh yes hair would describe him from 0-2 years of age and yes it was long (looked like a Beatle hair doo for awhile). He was amazing at getting around and started walking at 7 months....yes 7 MONTHS. Man was he a flirt and smile smile smile.  He was quite the artist at age 1 when I found his masterpiece drawn on the wall with POOP. Yuck! When we would put him in the corner for time out he would spread his legs and brace the wall like a criminal. (Hope that's not a sign) He called McDonalds...McDonups and had a Eagle eye for it. He would shout it out a mile before we could see it. Just think what our trip moving back from Florida to Vegas was like....about 100 McDonup's. When he was about 3 Blake came along and he was so happy to have a brother...then Blake developed stomach problems and could constantly cry....then his happiness turned into" Mom, will he ever be Quite". Gideon is indestructible boy at this age too. He climbs on everything, jumps off everything and is constantly some sort of Star Wars character. By age 4 I was sure I could read his personality well.....he is more mature, very sensitive to others feelings, very lovie and LOVE crafts. He is aaffected if I am disappointed in him (Blake could care less) and he is nice to EVERYONE. Oh and he and I shared a favorite time of day at this point....Nap time for his siblings. So, Kyle is big into Star Wars and so is Gideon, I just found it lame that Gideon could tell you EVERY Star Wars Character, their occupation and Home planet, but he could not do his ABC's completely or count to 20. We've fixed that of course. He started Kindergarten in Vegas with Mrs. Brigham as his teacher and loved his time away from his other sibling and his independence. Don't get me wrong he loves his siblings, but he also enjoys time to himself when he can create and not have to watch Buzz Lightyear. He plays with girls mainly, they just can't keep their hands off my cute boy. While he was 5 we were visiting LaVon in Utah and at the Treehouse Museum and he trips on the carpet...yes just the carpet and hits the edge of a table and yep our first stitches to the forehead just off the brow...He has a Harry Potter Scar. He did really well, especially since at this point in life he HATES shots. We are now in Idaho and he is in the First Grade at Ammon Elementary. He LOVES lunch time and riding the bus to school. He has the funnest laugh, huge smile is a great helper and loves cleaning the toilet LOL. We wouldn't be complete without him in our family.

Our First Blog!

Yeah! I am finally jumping on the banwagon and creating a blog. I have been an avid blogger follower, but never made one myself. So, hope you are in for my humor because posting to a blog is like hearing my thoughts. I plan on posting current events in our family and a liitle catch up from the past.

We are a family of 6 right now: Kyle 33, Shauna 31 (today` Happy Birthday to me), Adrianne 14, Gideon 6, Blake 3 and last but not least Cami 2. We are currently in Ammon, Idaho and hope to be here for a long time. Kyle is an Electrician with the Union, I am a retired (ha ha) Surgical scrub and now full time mom, and the kids have an occupation in destroying the house, attempting to sleep in my bed every night and testing my patience.

Right now all Kyle can talk about is hunting, telling me all the regulations for this gun, that bow or I could use this at this time. Blah Blah Blah. Just bring home the meat! I am working on my garden, running a Candle business and all the hundred other craft ideas that I can think of. Adrianne is in Chubbuck and starting her Freshman Year in High School.....of course her mind is on Boys, Boys and maybe a few other things. LOL. Gideon is in the First Grade, loves to draw (his shelf looks like a rats nest...tons of paper) He went thru a new packet of lined paper in 9 days. Purge baby Purge!!!! Blake is all about Buzz Light Year. He sleeps with Buzz or Zurge. He is enjoying his time at the house when Gideon is gone at school. Cami....or "Camizilla" as she is called too many times is fun. She has started saying "No" with girl attitude. Save me now!
